It is the universal duty of any big brother to protect his little sister, and one little boy is hailed as a hero for doing so.
Antoine Burks, 10, ran inside his burning home in Louisville, Kentucky to rescue his six-year-old sister, Trinity, who was left terrified in the fire.
According to the Huffington Post, Trinity was polishing her shoes when some of the liquid splashed on a nearby lamp, and engulfed the house in flames.
Antoine escaped from the house, but after realizing that Trinity was not beside him, he ran back in to retrieve her.
The NY Daily News reports a quote from the young hero: “I thought, what if something bad happens to her, it might have been my fault because I am her big brother, and I have to protect her.”
