- The parents of a college student are now suing a fraternity and the bar that served their underage daughter.

19-year-old Megan Helal’s heart stopped the morning after consuming 10-17 shots at a fraternity party at Baylor University.
According to NY Daily News, Helal was a student at Navarro College and was visiting Baylor with her boyfriend, who was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity
Shorty after the incident, the Sigma Chi fraternity was kicked off campus as a “direct result of a consistent failure to comply with University and student activity policies”.
The autopsy concluded that she died from natural causes however, her parents hope to prove that the enormous amount of alcohol caused her heart to stop.
The lawsuit does not indicate a specific amount of damages sought.
